The Modern Safari Master Bedroom

Master Bedroom Interior Design - Virtual Interior Design

AirBnB Interior Design Idea

This safari-inspired master bedroom interior design project uses an eclectic mix of furnishings. The walls are a mix of Sherman Williams limewash variants to create a definitive cement/concrete look. All the art on the walls is custom, including the beautiful Tonga woven basket above the bed. I went with a very contemporary large vertigo pendant in black that accented the black Aitian metal wall sconces. Instead of regular nightstands, I went with custom wood blocks from Etsy and included a Samurai leather-strapped chair to break the straight lines.

Instead of repeating art on both sides of the wall, I designed an oak beam pillar wall with wood pieces spaced and nailed to the wall to create visual interest. On the opposite side of the windows is a long walnut sideboard anchoring an oversized round black framed mirror. The room's centerpiece is the teak canopy bed that frames the light pendant and ties all the wood elements together. I used an oversized light gray hand-knotted rug to ground the entire room.
