A dining room fit for the morning newspaper, family dinners, and homework. It is down-to-earth to be functional but sophisticated and clean in its visual appeal. This moody European dining space brings a lot of nature inside. This good-sized room provides ample space and height for a dramatic black ceiling with a singular glass light pendant for a solid visual effect. I went for dark and light gray velvet drapes on the windows that bracketed sheer white curtains that overlap an off-white/cream Roman shade cover.

The walls in the space also retain an off-white color to provide a clear canvas for visual art and help in anchoring all the wooden furniture. I echo the black ceiling via the black round dining table and accentuate the earth tones through a few gold/brass decorative items. I chose a white/gray rug to repeat the off-white wall colors and provide breathing room for the black ceiling.
